I can't believe how big Carter is getting. He does not look like a baby anymore :(. He looks like a little boy. He started walking about two months ago and has now begun to run. He is also jabbering quite a lot. Jerrod and I started a list of words he says and he's up to 70! When I can find it I'll post the list. It is so cute to hear him talk and to be able to communicate with him. He's also been doing some chores around the house (yes, he is 16 months). He likes to feed the dog and help me empty the dishwasher. What a little helper!

Updates
So our good friends Travis, Jessica and baby Kaelan have convicted me of not keeping up on my blog - geez. So, an update. Naps are going better. Carter is now taking two naps a day, usually around 1 hour each. However, his new trick is pulling up in his crib, getting stuck and then crying; not fun at 1 am. Each night we spend around two hours laying him back down. I have to keep telling myself this season will end.......
On the upside, Carter has been crawling! Yes, he graduated from the army crawl to a real one. It is so much fun to see him learn new things. I'll try to snap a pic soon!

Sleep Training
So, here is my confession as a new mom, I have absolutely no idea what I'm doing! I have learned that I have a very active little boy who does not particularly like daytime naps. According to all I've read he should have between 3-3.5 hours of sleep during the day. I'm not so sure Carter's getting that so I am trying to do some sleep training to consolidate his sleep into two naps a day instead of random 30 minute catnaps. As is my custom I've gone to the Internet and done tons of research on the subject. Any advice is welcome......we'll see what Carter's pediatrician says next week when he goes for his big 6 month appointment!

Back to Work
So, it has been a few weeks since I went back to work. It has not been as bad as I thought it would be. Carter mostly stays with Jerrod's mom and also with my parents and my sister. However, the toughest part is just the coordination. I feel like I am packing his entire nursery when I leave the house. I am working a reduced 3/4 time schedule now and I really like it. I have been able to be with Carter in the mornings. The only drawback is that I stay at work until 6:30 so by the time we all get home, make dinner, and clean up after dinner it feels like time to go to bed. Well, I guess such is the life of parents, right?
Oh, and a little off topic, but this last weekend I attended my 10 year high school reunion. What a strange experience. However, I was able to catch up with folks, and as a bonus, I now have like double the Facebook friends.
Finally, I hope to upload photos of Carter to date at his website: carterwallgren.shutterfly.com. You'll need to e-mail or call me if you want the password.

Carter is Here!!!
Here are some photos from Carter's first week of life! He was born on April 21st at exactly 6 am. He weighed 6 lbs. 3 ozs. and was 18.5 inches long. My labor went pretty well. We are now settling into somewhat of a routine although Carter seems to have his days and nights mixed up. His most alert hours are between 9 pm and 1 am - yikes! Anyway, I hope you all enjoy the photos.
